Baird packs up
Congressman Brian Baird has sold his house on Northwest Cherry Street in Vancouver. The modest property was assessed at $184,225 in 2009. But the Vancouver Democrat, his wife Rachel Nugent and their twin sons plan to return to the Pacific Northwest after Baird leaves Congress at the end of the year, according to his spokesman, Adam Hudson. Hudson says they’ll be looking for a more suitable family home then.
The couple still own a home in Tacoma, which lies outside the 3rd Congressional District. To satisfy the congressional residency requirement, Baird is required only to live in the state of Washington.
