Heck scores with union

Democrat Denny Heck has scored the first major labor endorsement in the 3rd Congressional District race. The Olympia entrepreneur’s campaign announced Thursday that Heck has been endorsed by Local 612 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Local 612 has members in Lewis, Pacific and Thurston counties.

Heck said he got the nod in recognition of his commitment “to start fighting for our communities on day one to get people back to work.”
