Guess what?  I know the Guess Who!

In all honesty, I only went to tonight’s concert because my hubby had to leave the Fair early for a meeting and a friend is a Guess Who fan.  She wasn’t sure her family would last past the first song (she was right.)  People-watching is always fun so I figured I had nothing to lose other than possibly some hearing.  So off to the Guess Who concert I went.

Well, WOW!  I had so much fun!  These guys – some whom have been with the Canadian band in some form for over 50 years – can still rock it.  Strong voices, great guitar solos, air kicks, fun banter, interaction with the audience – they had it all.  Go figure:  the concert I was least interested in seeing turned out to be the best of them all.

I thought I only knew one song by The Guess Who – “American Woman.”  I think my friend was tickled every time a song got about 15 seconds in and I looked at her in disbelief and mouthed, “I KNOW THIS ONE!!”  I knew maybe a half-dozen of the songs.  I might have to look into downloading a Greatest Hits album.

The crowd was the lightest of the three concerts I attended but definitely the most lively.  Many people were on their feet most of the concert, and people of all ages were singing along to a lot of the songs.  The few, the fanatic.

The concert ended with the surprise (to me) hit “No Time.”  I was on my feet, singing, clapping, yelling, swaying, and realizing that a 2-month-old sprained knee should limit one’s dance moves.   But oh, it was worth it.

Thanks for the blast of an evening, Guess Who!!

I am a Clark County Fair Fanatic and eat all things fried during the glorious 10 days of The Fair. I have lived in Clark County since 2004 and consider it the second-best decision of my life. I am married to a great guy named Rob (first-best decision) who graciously carries my stuff and takes my picture every time I eat something at The Fair. We have two indoor cats and lots of deer, rabbits, and coyotes who are kind enough to stay outside.
