Superheroes come in all forms…including bananas

Wow, that was exhausting.

We just watched the Dragon Theater Puppet Show’s performance of “Home Grown Heroes.”  It was 20 minutes of frenzy and slightly varied voices from what appears to be a one-man show.

To be honest, I sort of lost track of the plot.  It had something to do with defeating a Bad Idea and ended with happiness, relief, and a shout-out to self-esteem.  Nevertheless, the cast of characters including a banana, a flower, and a hamster kept me entertained.  And I admired the ad libbing skills of the puppeteer when the hamster accidentally flew off the stage.

Judging from the ever increasing audience and the number of kids who stayed riveted until the end, I’d say the puppet show is definitely worth checking out if you have kids or want to pretend to be one for a few chaotic, colorful, pun-filled minutes.

The puppet show can be found in the Kids Area just inside the Superhero Adventure building.  Check the Fan Fair for showtimes.

I am a Clark County Fair Fanatic and eat all things fried during the glorious 10 days of The Fair. I have lived in Clark County since 2004 and consider it the second-best decision of my life. I am married to a great guy named Rob (first-best decision) who graciously carries my stuff and takes my picture every time I eat something at The Fair. We have two indoor cats and lots of deer, rabbits, and coyotes who are kind enough to stay outside.
