Mountain View hires volleyball coach
Rachael Howington, a longtime volleyball assistant in the area, has her first official head coaching job at the high school level.
Howington, who in recent years has been an assistant at Battle Ground, will take over as the head coach at Mountain View.
“I know that Mountain View has a lot of talent and potential,” Howington said. “I feel I can add to the program. I’m excited to take the program, build it, and create an atmosphere of dedicated, hard-working girls.”
Howington has been a head coach at the club level for years. She also was a co-coach for a season at Hockinson last decade, filling in for maternity leave for the head coach, but this is her first high school varsity head coaching gig.
“Her passion for both the sport of volleyball and the students themselves will be a great addition to our community,” said Adam Mathison, Mountain View’s athletic director.
