Local wrestlers going to Japan
Three wrestlers from Clark County will be among the 13 from the Northwest who will be traveling to Japan to take part in the sport’s cultural exchange program.
Connor Thun, a recent graduate from Columbia River, Larry Andersen, who will be a senior at Columbia River in the fall, and Jose Avila-Leal, a recent graduate from Prairie, will be heading to Japan on Sunday to wrestle.
Columbia River coach Joe Reed is the team leader for the Northwest wrestlers.
Japan has sent dozens of wrestlers to the Northwest in recent years, competing in exhibitions.
