Prairie hires new volleyball coach
Carlie Price, who was the junior varsity volleyball coach at Prairie in the fall, has been named the program’s head coach.
Price, a Columbia River High School graduate who played at the University of Portland, has coached club and high school volleyball for 14 years. Price will take over for Paige Person, who resigned after leading the Falcons to the Class 3A state tournament the past two seasons.
Price said in an email that she wants to “carry on the strong traditions that the volleyball coaches before me have created.”
Prairie won the Class 3A state championship in 2012. The Falcons have made it to the state tournament in five of the past six seasons.
“I look forward to … working hard in the offseason to get us ready for the fall,” Price wrote. “I know I have a great group of athletes to work with as well as amazing parents who do so much to support the program and their student athletes.”
