Japanese and Clark County wrestlers to compete at Prairie HS
A team of wrestling champions from Japan has been on a tour of the Northwest this month and will be competing in Clark County on Tuesday.
Some of the best wrestlers from Southwest Washington will take on the wrestlers from Japan at Prairie High School. Opening ceremonies will be at 6:30 p.m., with wrestling at 7 p.m.
Cost is $5 for adults, $4 for students. Local youth mat club members are free if they wear their club T-shirts.
The Japanese-Pacific Northwest cultural exchange through wrestling dates back to the 1960s in Oregon, and 1970 in Washington.
Tuesday is the first of two big wrestling events at Prairie High School. The Falcons will also host the Clark County Wrestling Championships on Jan. 16 and 17.
