Dallas Goodpaster now at Evergreen
Dallas Goodpaster, one of the best wrestlers in the region the past two years as well as a talented football player, is no longer at Prairie High School and is enrolled at Evergreen.
He plans on playing football and wrestle for the Plainsmen. In fact, he might play in Saturday’s football game against Todd Beamer of Federal Way.
Goodpaster, now a junior, left Prairie for a prep school in New Jersey. He said he had practiced with the team in New Jersey, but after an illness, he decided to return to Southwest Washington. His family has since moved into the Evergreen boundary, and Goodpaster enrolled at Evergreen.
School officials say that Goodpaster has met eligibility requirements, and his practice time in New Jersey counts in Washington so he has the required number of practices to participate in a football game.
While at Prairie, Goodpaster finished third in the Class 3A state championships last winter at 220 pounds. He placed fifth in state as a freshman.
In football, Goodpaster rushed for 173 yards in a win over Class 4A Skyview to open the 2013 season. He also is a strong defensive player.
