Winterfest Gymnastics results corrected
Winterfest, the gymnastics event hosted by Columbia River High School, seems to get bigger and bigger every year.
So big this year, in fact, that the event changed formats.
So many teams wanted to participate that organizers held two separate meets Saturday.
Unfortunately, that information was not relayed to us in the Sports department. That caused some confusion.
The person who received the results Saturday thought that there were two sessions for one meet, and that to determine the true winner of Winterfest, one had to combine the sessions. So that person combined the results into one file to be published.
This is not unheard of, by the way. At state, for example, there are two sessions for the Class 3A meet because there are so many teams and athletes. The championship is split up into separate flights, with the scores combined at the end to determine placings.
At Winterfest, though, it really was two separate meets. We apologize for the miscue.
With that said, here are the corrected results from the two meets:
