State Basketball Tournaments Will Go On
For the first time in memory, Clark County will not have any teams in the Class 3A or 4A basketball tournaments this week at the Tacoma Dome. Paul Valencia wrote about that in Wednesday’s paper, and about the issue of whether eight or 16 teams should make it to “state.” Meanwhile, basketball will be played up north, and the Tacoma News Tribune has previews of all the teams that did make it:
Yes, champions will be crowned Saturday in Tacoma; they just won’t be from Clark County. That’s quite a letdown after the high of last year, when the Prairie girls and Skyview girls won championships just hours apart.
Clark County’s hopes this year will be in Spokane, where the Columbia Adventist boys qualified for the 1B tournament.
