Prep athlete of the week nominees 2/11
Nominees for The Columbian’s prep athlete of the week for the week of Feb. 4-9.
SETH ALBERT, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: Albert won four district titles, two individuals (200 freestyle and 100 freestyle) and two relays (200 free relay and 400 free relay), helping Camas win the 4A district team title.
ERIN LOCKE, WASHOUGAL GIRLS WRESTLING: Locke won the 130-pound division title to lead Washougal to a runner-up finish at the girls Region III in Battle Ground.
JON REYNOLDS, UNION BOYS WRESTLING: Reynolds beat Michael Mecham of Skyview to win the 160-pound title at the 4A regional tournament. The third-ranked wrestler in the state at 160 pounds helped Union claim the team title.
ISAIAH SMITH, COLUMBIA RIVER BOYS BASKETBALL: Smith had 31 points on 12-of-17 shooting and pulled down 14 rebounds in leading River to its second consecutive 3A district championship.
KATIE WHITTEN, LA CENTER GIRLS BASKETBALL: Whitten had 25 points, four steals and five assists in a district playoff win over Forks, then added 21 points, 4 3-pointers, five steals and four assists in a narrow loss to Hoquiam.
