Coaches all-state girls soccer teams
Columbia River forward Maddie Reynolds was selected the state Class 3A MVP of the all-state girls soccer team, as voted on by the Washington State Soccer Coaches Association members and other high school coaches across the state.
Reynolds helped the Chieftains win the Class 3A state championship. Coach Filomon Afenegus was selected as the 3A coach of the year.
Reynolds was joined on the 3A all-state first team by teammate Sarah Case, a defender.
Earning spots on the second team were Hudson’s Bay midfielder Alexa Whitney and Columbia River defender Taylor Hallquist.
Evergreen forward Nicole Mattson and Camas defender Carly Marshall earned spots on the Class 4A first team. Union forward Bobbi Eckler, Union midfielder Carlee Maluenda and Camas midfielder Jamie Carter earned honorable mention.
Hockinson forwards Kavita Battan and Aurora Bodenhamer made the Class 2A second team. Ridgefield midfielder Lizzie Vance, Hockinson midfielder Rylee Seekins, Ridgefield defender Carly Estes and Hockinson defender Maya Nicol earned honorable mention.
At Class 1A, La Center midfielder Byrnne Dykes made the second team. King’s Way Christian midfielder Heidi Fronk earned honorable mention.
