Prep athlete of the week nominees 12/3
Here are the nominees for the first athlete-of-the-week nominees for the winter sports season.

Britni Atwell, Heritage gymnastics: Atwell won the all-around in a meet with Skyview with a score of 37.75, winning on beam (9.6) and floor (9.8).
Aaron Blaine, Hudson’s Bay wrestling: Blaine won all three of his matches by fall, none lasting two full periods, in duals with Evergreen, Union and Willamina, Ore. Blaine is ranked sixth in the state in all classifications at 145 pounds.
Wylicia Faley, Battle Ground girls bowling: Faley, the defending 4A state champion, bowled a 278 game in a win over Columbia River and had four other games of 203 or better out of six total games during the week.
Carly Holboke, Mountain View girls basketball: Holboke averaged 26 points a game in three games last week, and added 29 points in an exhibition game against an Mandurah of Australia.
Isaiah Smith, Columbia River boys basketball: The senior scored a school-record 42 points in a season-opening win over Evergreen to break the River record for career points. He also added games of 31 and 28 points for an average of 34 points for the week.
