Steele resigns as Hockinson football coach
Rick Steele has resigned as the head football coach at Hockinson High School, athletic director Beth Tugaw announced.
Steele is the only head coach Hockinson has had in nine years of varsity football, posting a 40-47 record. He led the Hawks to three Class 2A Greater St. Helens League championships.
“It’s going to be a challenge to replace a man that is loved by players and parents,” Tugaw said. “He is a man of great character and integrity.”
Tugaw said the job opening will be posted this week, and she hopes to have a replacement named by January.
