Prep football player of the week nominees, Week 9

Nominees for The Columbian’s high school football player of the week for Week 9 of the season. To avoid any teammates canceling each other out in the voting, nominees are limited to one per team.

NATE BEASLEY, CAMAS: Beasley rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns and also added an interception in the Papermakers’ win over Battle Ground that clinched an unbeaten season in the 4A Greater St. Helens League.

GIANNI CARBONE, SKYVIEW: Carbone had a tackle for loss, a sack and an interception to lead the Storm to a win over Union to clinch a home playoff game.

CLAYTON FRANK, COLUMBIA RIVER: The quarterback rushed for 131 yards on 12 carries and one touchdown and passed for 173 yards and another TD as River clinched the 3A GSHL title.

JUSTIN STRAUP, EVERGREEN: Straup rushed for 184 yards on 20 carries and scored a touchdown as Evergreen beat rival Heritage.

GAQUAN WHITE, FORT VANCOUVER: White caught five passes for 112 yards and a touchdown as the Trappers snapped a 23-game losing streak with a win over Hudson’s Bay.
