State football rankings comparison
It’s interesting to take a look at these state rankings in high school football and see where everyone agrees and disagrees.
As the rankings go for local teams, here is how they look like
Camas ranks as high as No. 2 by the Score Czar and coaches have the Papermakers tied at No. 2 with Federal Way. The Associated Press and Seattle Times have Camas at No. 3 behind Federal Way, and the Tacoma News Tribune has a little home cookin’ going on with Bellarmine Prep at No. 3 and Camas at No. 4 (despite the fact that Bellarmine is a 6-1 team and Camas is a 7-0 team, and Bellarmine’s one loss was to Lakes, a team Camas obliterated on Lakes’ home field. But who pays attention to such details?).
Skyview ranks as high as No. 7 by the Score Czar, No. 8 by the Seattle Times and tied for No. 9 by AP. The TNT and coaches don’t have the Storm ranked in the top 10.
Union appears at No. 10 by the coaches and Score Czar, but don’t appear in other rankings.
No Clark County teams appear in any 3A or 2A rankings. The Score Czar still has a lot of love for Mark Morris, who is ranked No. 2 (I’m aware the sentiment does not factor into the Score Czar’s rankings). The Monarchs are No. 7 in the other four polls.
La Center comes in at No. 4 on the Score Czar’s 1A rankings, but No. 6 in three other rankings. The Seattle Times does not rank 1A teams. Woodland comes in at No. 6 by the Score Czar but don’t appear in any other top 10.
