Prep football player of the week nominees, Week 6

Nominees for The Columbian’s high school football player of the week for Week 6 of the season. To avoid any teammates canceling each other out in the voting, nominees are limited to one per team.

CLAYTON FRANK, COLUMBIA RIVER: The quarterback completed 19 of 24 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns and he rushed for another 42 yards in the Chieftains’ 27-20 double-overtime win over Kelso.

JARED HUDDLESTON, LA CENTER: Huddleston rushed for 195 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns in the Wildcats’ 40-6 win over Tenino.

GUNNAR LONG, RIDGEFIELD: Long completed 7 of 13 passes for 146 yards and rushed for three touchdowns in the Spudders’ 56-3 win over Washougal.

LEON SIOFELE, UNION: Siofele rushed for 170 yards on 23 carries and a touchdown and caught three passes for 31 yards — a total of 201 yards of offense — in the Titans’ 28-7 win over Battle Ground.

CY WHITMIRE, WOODLAND: Whitmire rushed for 77 yards on 15 carries, scored four touchdowns, recorded four tackles and two sacks in the Beavers’ 35-12 win over Toledo.
