Week 5 football player of the week nominees

Nominees for The Columbian’s high school football player of the week for Week 5 of the season. To avoid any teammates canceling each other out in the voting, we are limiting nominees to one per team.

NOLAN HENRY, UNION: The quarterback completed 13 of 15 passes — he’s completed 25 of 30 passes the last two weeks — for 325 yards and a touchdown in the Titans’ 56-19 win over Heritage.

IAN HUMPHREY, BATTLE GROUND: Humphrey completed 19 of 24 passes for 372 yards and six touchdowns — almost doubling his output for the season — in the Tigers’ 40-6 win over Evergreen.

REMICK KAWAWAKI, COLUMBIA RIVER: Kawawaki rushed for 151 yards on 10 carries, rushed for three touchdowns and had a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown in River’s 62-12 win over Fort Vancouver.

AUSTIN MACE, MOUNTAIN VIEW: Mace rushed for 234 yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns in the Thunder’s 49-21 win over Prairie.

JOHN NORCROSS, CAMAS: Norcross rushed for 108 yards, scored five touchdowns — including one on an 11-yard reception — set up one of TDs with an interception and had several big hits on defense in the Papermakers’ 42-17 win over Skyview.
