Prep fall athlete of the week nominees 9/24

Nominees for The Columbian’s fall sports athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 17-22.

JACOB BERG, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS GOLF: Berg earned the medalist honors at the Fisherman Invitational, shooting a 74 at Surfside Golf Course in Ocean Park to help Mountain View win the team title.

NICOLE MATTSON, EVERGREEN GIRLS SOCCER: Mattson had a role in four of her team’s five goals last week, earning three goals and one assist in Evergreen’s 4-0 win over Hockinson and 1-0 win over Ridgefield.

MARK TEDDER, BATTLE GROUND BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Tedder was the highest local placer in the Three Course Challenge in Seaside, Ore., winning on the easy course in 14:39.

DALANEY TUHOLSKI, HERITAGE VOLLEYBALL: Tuholski tallied 27 kills, 14 service points, 14 digs, two aces, five assists and four blocks in a five-set victory over Mark Morris.

ANDREA YOUNG, UNION GIRLS SWIMMING: Young won all five of her events to win the high point award at the Mark Morris Sprint Pentathlon, and she made the state qualifying mark in the 200 individual medley.
