Prep fall athlete of the week nominees 9/17

Nominees for The Columbian’s fall sports athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 10-15.

Kavita Battan, Hockinson girls soccer: Battan scored seven goals and added two assists as the Hawks posted three victories last week.

Monica Bottelberghe, Columbia River girls swimming: Bottelberghe won the 100 butterfly and 500 freestyle in state-qualifying times last week, giving her four events in which she has achieved state-qualifying marks this season.

Brian Humphreys, Camas boys golf: The freshman shot a 5-under-par 31 at Green Mountain, and he shot a 75 to finish tied for third at the Jeff Hudson Invitational at Tri-Mountain.

Karlee Lubenow, Prairie volleyball: Lubenow had 15 kills, 19 digs and four blocks vs. Camas and 17 kills, 21 digs and three aces vs. Union as the top-ranked Falcons posted a pair of solid wins.

Isaac Stinchfield, Washougal boys cross country: Stinchfield won the Saxon XC Invitational in Salem, posting a time of 15:49 in the 5,000-meter course.
