Sork earns spot on US Junior Team for worlds

Union graduated senior Tanner Sork placed second in the 800 meters on Saturday at the USATF Junior Championships in Bloomington, Ind.

He finished with a time of 1 minute, 49.39 seconds, which was just 0.18 seconds behind winner Shaquille Walker, a freshman at BYU. Sork’s time was just short of his Washington state record (1:48.74) he set on June 2, but was still under the previous state record of 1:49.41 that he broke.

Sork’s result earns him a spot on the US Junior Team for the IAAF World Junior Championships in July at Barcelona.
