Monday (4-23) highlights

SOFTBALL:

Woodland 2, Hockinson 0: Makayla Lefever threw a no-hitter and struck out 14 for the first-place Beavers. Emily Tesdale drove in the only two runs of the game with a hit in the first inning.

Union 2, Battle Ground 1: The Titans scored two in the bottom of the seventh to win. Hannah Hutchinson got the game-winning hit. Emma Alfonso struck out 10 in the win.

Prairie 17, Fort Vancouver 0: Taylor Bussey went 4 for 4 and drove in five runs.

Camas 13, Hudson’s Bay 2: Amee Aarhus and Erin Tauscher each hit homers. Aarhus was the inside-the-park variety.

BASEBALL:

Skyview 10, Heritage 0 and Evergreen 12, Union 2: We have Skyview at 7-2 and Evergreen at 7-3 in the 4A GSHL standings.

Camas 10, Columbia River 4 and Mountain View 13, Kelso 1: These two remain on a collision course for the 3A league title. Camas is 9-1 and Mountain View is 8-1.

SOCCER:

Skyview 3, Battle Ground 0: The Storm improved to 8-1-0 in 4A GSHL play.

Evergreen 7, Heritage 1: Timur Zhividze scored the first goal, then assisted on the next five.

Prairie 9, Kelso 1: Igor Shapoval scored six goals, giving him 19 this season — a new season record at Prairie.

TENNIS:

Columbia River 3, Prairie 3 (River wins via total sets): Match of the day had to be this — Kelsey Strain and Karianna Agarkov of Prairie teamed up to beat Kayli Troelson and Jayne Piboonvaranggoon 6-7 (8-10), 7-5, 7-6 (7-3). Great match. And in a way, both won. By taking that second set, Troelson and Piboonvaranggoon helped River win the team event.
