Union’s Nelson picks a college

Tanner Nelson, who helped the Union Titans to the Class 3A state boys basketball championship in 2010 and then a third-place finish in the 4A tournament last month, has announced he intends to sign with BYU-Hawaii.

Union coach Maco Hamilton said he believes Nelson will sign within the next few days.

Nelson also was an All-Region football player for the Titans.
