Statistically speaking: Prairie

Hey, the Falcons went 3-0. Says so on the first page of the Class 3A state tourney stat sheet. Figure you already knew that, though. Here are some things you might not have known:

The Falcons outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 per game.

Prairie — a small team, remember? — was second of the eight teams in rebounding. (To be fair, only six teams played three games. Still, No. 2 is a pretty good showing for this squad.)

Not surprisingly, the Falcons led the tournament in assists with 31. (Not to rain on anyone’s parade, but I think the official stat guys missed a few assists. I’m not perfect. But I know I saw more than 31.)

Prairie was first in charges taken. I love that stat. Don’t see it often.

Prairie was first in scoring with 173 points. Prairie also had the best free-throw percentage at 67.7. The Falcons also led the tourney in 3-pointers made, 3-point percentage, and free throws made.

Heather Corral led the tourney in 3-pointers (8) and assists (12).
