Prairie and Skyview by the numbers

Number of field goals made by Skyview’s Aubrey Ward-El before taking the final shot of the game.

The only shot that mattered for Aubrey Ward-El, a 3-pointer with 1 second remaining, giving Skyview its first state championship.

Years in a row Prairie has played for the state championship. (One gets the feeling the Falcons like this year a whole lot better than last year.)

Victories each by Skyview and Prairie in the Tacoma Dome this week. Skyview won two buzzer-beaters. Prairie won all three by double-digits, yet two were battles.

Number of Prairie girls who scored in double figures in the championship game. Cori Woodward (13), Megan Lindsley (11), Jackie Lanz (10) and Andrea Smith (10).

How about a high-five to the coaches. Jennifer Buscher and Al Aldridge have made Southwest Washington the place to be for girls basketball.

State championships for the Prairie Falcons.

The 7-person main rotation for the Skyview Storm. All seven had season-changing performances or moments during the three-game tournament.

Field goals in nine attempts for Skyview’s Jocelyn Adams in the 4A state championship game.

Number of years between titles for the Falcons. (Yet they are always there. The Falcons have now won 14 trophies in their current 15-year streak of reaching the state tournament. The Falcons are 44-14 in those 15 appearances.)
