Helmet use could be limited someday

It would not surprise me if, say, in five to 10 years or so, football helmets will only be used in season. And possibly just once a week during practice before games.

The NFL is already limiting full-pad practices, and it likely is only a matter of time before those rules filter down to college and then high school.

An athletic director in Everett would like the future to begin now.
