Two local freshmen earn state honors

Two Clark County athletes were selected the WIAA/Seattle Times athlete of the week for the week of Jan. 1-7.

Grant Gaspar, a freshman on the Ridgefield wrestling team, earned the honor for Class 1A boys. He won two league matches that week, earning a 9-3 decision and a second-round pin.

Another freshman, Harper Christian of King’s Way Christian girls basketball team earned the honor for Class 1B girls. Christian posted a pair of triple-doubles with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 steal in one game, and 17 points, 13 rebounds and 11 steals in another victory.
