ODESSA-HARRINGTON (7-3)

Last week: beat Colton 48-30 in a bi-district playoff.

Notes: The communities of Odessa and Harrington are located just outside of Moses Lake in central Washington … O-H placed second to Almira-Coulee-Hartline in the 1B Northeast League South Division. … The Titans were 1-2 after back-to-back losses to Cusick (52-48) and LaCrosse-Washtucna (30-14). They won four in a row after that before losing to Almira/Coulee-Hartline 64-20. … OH earned some revenge of Cusick with a 54-14 win on Nov. 4. … This is O-H’s first state playoff berth since 2008. The Titans played in the state title game in 2007.

KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN (8-1)

Last week: beat Lyle 14-12 in a league game.

Notes: This is the Knights’ first trip into the state playoffs. … King’s Way has not played in two weeks since beat Lyle 14-12. … King’s Way had already wrapped up the No. 1 seed to district before the Lyle game. … The Knights’ only loss this season was to Camas Valley, the 2010 eight-man state runner-up in Oregon. … King’s Way won the 1B Southwest League title with a 7-0 record. … Teams from the 1B Southwest have not fared well at state recently, going 0-4 the past two seasons. But Wishkah Valley played for the state title in 2008.

Bottom line: The Knights have had two weeks to prepare for this game after having to rally to win their regular-season finale. King’s Way was hoping for a game in Clark County, but the 90-minute drive to Centralia is certainly a lot closer than what Odessa-Harrington will have to travel. We’ll count those two factors in the Knights’ favor.
