ISSAQUAH (7-2)

Last week: beat Inglemoor 40-24.

Players to watch: QB Ethan Kalin 90-144, 1,399 yards, 19 TDs; RB Jack Gellatly 109-693 9 TDs; WR Jake Bakamus 27-403, 4 TDs; Reed Peterson 14-373, 6 TDs.

Notes: Issaquah placed third in the KingCo Crest Division, which includes former top-ranked team Eastlake and perennial power Skyline. Skyline won 3A state title in 2007, 4A titles in 2008-09 and reached 4A title game last year. … Issaquah’s two losses were to Eastlake (44-17) and Skyline (41-14). … Seven wins were by average margin of 36.9 points, including 48-0 win in Week 1 over Heritage. … Issaquah has reach 4A state quarterfinals last three seasons, including a title game appearance in 2008. … Gellatly, a sophomore, rushed for 197 yards in last week’s win over Inglemoor.

Notes: Storm have won seven consecutive games since starting 0-2 against a pair of state champions from Oregon and Idaho. … Skyview shares common opponent with Issaquah in Heritage. Issaquah won 48-0 in Week 1; Skyview won 49-7 in Week 3. Neither game was a close as scores indicated. … After playing four running-clock games in five weeks, the Skyview starters have had to play all four quarter the past two weeks, getting the Storm ready for the postseason.

Bottom line: This is a tough state preliminary draw for Skyview. But if the Storm win, they’ll be able to play at Kiggins in the first two rounds of state. In the end, playing at home could be the tipping point in Skyview’s favor.
