Week 8 football preview: Ridgefield vs. Toledo

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Ridgefield HS (Class 1A Trico League game).

Last meeting: Ridgefield won 28-14 on Oct. 22, 2010 in Toledo.

Last week: Ridgefield beat Castle Rock 11-3; Toledo beat Ilwaco 35-0.

Toledo (6-1, 4-1): Toledo has scored at least 34 points in every league game this season. The Indians’ lone league loss was 41-34 loss to Kalama. … Toledo can stay in the hunt for a share of the league title with a win and a La Center win over Kalama next week.

Ridgefield (5-2, 3-2): The Spudders’ three wins have come against teams currently below them in the standings. The two losses have come to teams above them. Toledo is above Ridgefield in the standings, so a win Friday would be big for the Spudders. It would also clinch a playoff berth.

Bottom line: Toledo has a lot of firepower and will be looking to avenge last season’s loss to the Spudders.
