Woodland (3-3, 2-0): Cy Whitmire is second in the region in rushing yards this season with 768 on 91 carries and 8 TDs. … Tough non-league games against Class 4A Battle Ground and Oregon state champion Scio prepared the Beavers for league play. … With the Whitmire brother (Cy and Eli) combining for 283 yards, there was not much need to pass the ball against R.A. Long. QB Adam Shoup was 3 for 4 for 23 yards, including an 11-yard TD pass. … Shoup has passed for 628 yards this season.

Washougal (6-0, 1-0): The Panthers have won seven games in a row dating back to last season. … Last week’s 28-7 win at Crook County was Washougal’s closest game all season. … Sam O’Hara rushed for 217 yards last week, giving him 724 on the season. He’s rushed for 9 TDs. … The Panthers won last week without Colton Sullivan completing a pass and only attempting two. He’s 32 of 46 for 694 yards and 5 TDs this season. … Karsten Short is the leading receiver with 305 yards on nine catches, three for TDs.

Bottom line: With Hockinson still on the schedule for both teams, this can’t be for the league title. But it could go a long way to determining the league title.
