Last week: La Center beat Castle Rock 12-7; Stevenson lost to Toledo 34-14.

Stevenson (1-5, 0-4): Karl Bell had 83 yards rushing last week vs. Toledo. But 80 of those yards came on a first-quarter TD run. … Alex McCrum also rushed for 83 yards. … McCrum and Bell led the defense with 20 and 19 tackles respectively. … The 14 points last week were the most Stevenson has scored in a game all season.

La Center (4-2, 3-1): The Wildcats have won three in a row since dropping their league opener to Toledo. … Last week, La Center was able to do something that they were not able to do against Toledo — overcome turnovers. … Vancouver Christian’s loss has been La Center’s gain. Mike Polyakov, who came to the Wildcats this season after VC discontinued its football program, has rushed for 567 yards and 8 TDs this season. … Polyakov had 144 yards and two TDs last week.
