Week 6 football preview: Skyview vs. Battle Ground

Last meeting: Skyview won 52-0 on Oct. 8, 2010 in Battle Ground.

Last week: Skyview beat Lincoln 61-6; Battle Ground beat Evergreen 54-13.

Battle Ground (4-1, 1-0): With a 4-1 start, the Tigers are off to their best start since 1991, when they finished 8-2. … That’s the good news. The bad news is Battle Ground’s four wins have come against teams that are a combined 2-18. … Tyler Bergeron had a big game vs. Evergreen, rushing for 190 yards and a TD. He also had a 31-yard TD reception. … QB Ian Humphrey completed 6 of 9 passes for 153 yards and two TDs. He also had two rushing TDs.

Skyview (3-2, 1-0): Since dropping their first two games, the Storm have won three in a row by a combined score of 141-23. … RB Parker Henry has rushed for an area-best 820 yards this season. … Kieran McDonagh completed 12 of 14 passes for 144 yards and appears to have recovered from ankle injury forced him out of the lineup earlier this year.

Bottom line: The Storm will provide a solid test for the Tigers’ solid start. Battle Ground has won four in a row; Skyview has won three.
