Last week: Heritage lost to Mountain View 45-3; Grant beat Beaverton 35-28.

Heritage (1-3): In the Timberwolves’ three losses, they have been outscored by an average score of 47-3. … QB Joey Cooper has passed for 361 yards, but only one TD. … WR E’Lon Mack is the standout on this team, with 21 receptions for 301 yards.

Grant (3-1): The Generals from Portland are ranked No. 7 in the OregonLive Class 6A poll in Oregon. … QB Paris Penn has committed to Portland State. He has passed for 718 yards and four TDs this season. He has also rushed for 241 yards and two TDs. … The late-afternoon start is nothing new for the Generals. Their on-campus home field has no lights, so Grant plays home games at 4 p.m.

Bottom line: Since last year, Grant has clearly improved. Heritage? Not so much.
