Week 4 football preview: Prairie vs. Fort Vancouver

Last meeting: Prairie won 47-23 on Sept. 24, 2010 in Vancouver.

Last week: Prairie lost to Mountain View 44-28; Fort Vancouver lost to Washougal 48-21.

Fort Vancouver (0-3): Jordan Vela had 92 yard kickoff return for a TD last week against Washougal. … QB Jacob Austin passed for 141 yards and ran for two touchdowns. … Fort has suffered three lopsided losses to 4A, 2A, and 1A teams. … The Trappers were very much in their game at Washougal, until surrending 31 fourth-quarter points. … Austin has passed for 428 yards on the season.

Prairie (1-2): The Falcons are averaging 38 points a game this season. … QB Colin Seitz has passed for 941 yards and 13 TDs … Ansel Cecil and Jesse Zalk are 1-2 in the region in receiving yards. Cecil has 23 catches for 311 yards and 7 TDs. Zalk has 11 catches for 245 yards and 2 TDs. .. David Taylor has 14 catches for 191 yards. … Prairie has struggled to run the ball, especially between the tackles.

Bottom line: Prairie hasn’t been able to do much on the ground. But Fort might not be able to slow down the Falcons’ passing game for that to matter.
