Last week: Evergreen lost to Richland 31-12; Eisenhower lost to Chiawana 42-13.

Evergreen (0-3): Evergreen comes into this game on a seven-game losing streak, dating back to last season … The Plainsmen have scored just 6 points in the first half, and none in the first quarter all season. … Evergreen got a solid outing in the running game from Justin Straup last week. Straup had 101 yards rushing on 12 carries and a touchdown.

Eisenhower (2-1): The Cadets opened the season with lopsided wins over 3A teams Rainier Beach and West Valley of Yakima. … But Eisenhower opened league with a 42-13 loss to Chiawana. … Despite the lopsided score, Eisenhower outgained Chiawana 377-344. … The Cadets’ strength is their passing game. QB Kolney Cassel has passed for 794 yards this season.

Bottom line: The Plainsmen may be improving, but against a tough non-league schedules, it’s hard to tell from the results. Evergreen gets another test this week.
