King’s Way Christian (1-0): QB Jay Becker did it all in King’s Way Christian’s Week 1 win over Sunnyside Christian. Becker rushed for 294 yards, passed for 220 yards, scored four touchdowns and led the Knights in tackles with 11. … DT Brad Benton had 10 tackles. … WR Carter Coval had 6 catches for 176 yards vs. Sunnyside.

Camas Valley (2-0): The Hornets have averaged 297 yards rushing this season and 143 yards passing. … In Week 2 last year, King’s Way lost 64-8 to St. Paul. Camas Valley lost 22-8 to St. Paul in the Oregon 1A (8-man football) state championship game. … Ryan Dancer leads the Hornets with 285 yards passing and 176 yards rushing. … Richard Andreas is the Hornets’ leading receiver with nine catches for 201 yards.

Bottom line: King’s Way got off to a good start and gets two weeks to prepare for Camas Valley. But the long trip and tough foe may be too much for the Knights.
