Hockinson (1-1): Hockinson is a better team than the one that loss to Tacoma Baptist last season. But the Hawks must bounce back from a lopsided loss to Prairie. … Jess Krahn was 9-for-16 passing for 91 yards. He was 7-for-9 for 84 yards on Hockinson’s final drive of the first half. … Krahn was replaced at QB by Justin Anderson in the second half. … Zackery McElveny had a 50-yard TD run for the Hawks against Prairie. … Justin Niemela rushed for 135 yards and a TD in the Week 1 win over La Center. He had 62 yards rushing against Prairie.

Tacoma Baptist (1-1): Tacoma Baptist has eight starters on offense and seven on defense returning from a team that went 9-3 last year and reached the Class 2B state quarterfinals. … The Crusaders are led by lineman Walker Williams, a 6-7, 320-pound senior who has committed to play at Wisconsin. … Tacoma Baptist opened the season with a loss to Charles Wright, the No. 9-ranked team in Class 1A.

Bottom line: The Hawks will surely enjoy better success this week than last. But they still face a challenge in a long road trip and a big lineman for Tacoma Baptist.
