Last week: Mountain View beat Evergreen 49-7; Camas beat Timberline 20-6.

Mountain View (1-0): Everything went right in the Thunder’s opener against rival Evergreen. … RB Nick Mace rushed for 130 yards on 18 carries, scoring three TDs. … RB Sterling Reynolds rushed for 73 yards on 13 carries. He also caught three passes for 72 yards, including a 54-yard TD pass play. .. QB Riley O’Dell was 5 for 8 passing for 113 yards and TD. He also rushed for 55 yards and two TDs. … Defensively, the Thunder held Evergreen to 109 yards of offense.

Camas (1-0): The Camas defense help the Papermakers survive an uneven performance on offense in their win over Timberline. … QB Tony Gennaro completed 17 of 26 passes for 154 yards, but all-league RB Zack Marshall rushed for just 21 yards on 16 carries. … As a team, Camas rushed for just 42 yards, with 15 coming in the final minutes after Camas had sealed the win away. … K Roldan Alcobendas proved a key player. He averaged 35 yards on four punts. Four of his five kickoffs went for touchbacks. And he kicked field goals of 34 and 43 yards.

Bottom line: One week is not always the best barometer to just a team. The Week 1 performances could be as much a product of the opponents as it is a team’s strength or weakness. Either way, this looks to be a great 3A GSHL opener, with Camas getting the home-field edge.
