Same home field, very different schedule

Here is a fun quirk with the high school football schedule.

As most of you know, Evergreen, Heritage, Mountain View, and Union call McKenzie Stadium home. That makes for quite a combination of games.

Heritage will travel to Issaquah for its Week 1 game, then will play the next eight games at McKenzie Stadium.

The Timberwolves will be the “home” team against Mark Morris, Skyview, Grant (Ore.), Camas, Battle Ground, and Evergreen. The team will be on the “road” against Mountain View and Union.

The Union Titans, on the other hand, play their first two games of the season north of Clark County, at Bothell and then at Enumclaw. The Titans will return for a home game in Week 3, but it’s a Thursday contest against Westview from Oregon. Back on the road outside of Clark County, the Titans play at Kelso in Week 4.

That means the first time Union will play a home game at McKenzie Stadium on a Friday night is Week 5 against Mountain View.

See ya in a few weeks, Titans.

And for the Timberwolves after this week, see ya every week.
