Corral surgery set for Friday
Prairie basketball standout Heather Corral will not be able to watch her teammates play Friday because she is scheduled to undergo knee surgery. Her doctor squeezed Corral into a tight schedule, and Corral said she had to take it this week or wait another month.
A junior, Corral said she wanted her torn anterior cruciate ligament to be repaired as soon as possible in order to return for her senior season.
Corral injured her knee in the Class 3A bi-district semifinals. Prairie has won the last two games without her and has reached the state quarterfinals. The Falcons play Kennedy of Burien on Thursday morning, then will play in the championship semifinals or in the consolation bracket on Friday.
