Seton Catholic hires football coach

Dan Chase has been hired as the first head coach of Seton Catholic’s upstart football program, Seton’s athletic director Dick Scobba said.

Chase, a 1995 graduate of Evergreen High School, is a math teacher at Seton Catholic, joining the staff last fall.

A former quarterback and receiver at Carroll College in Montana, Chase has spent 11 seasons as an assistant football coach at Heritage High School, coordinating the offense on the freshmen, JV and varsity squads.

Seton Catholic will play its first season of 11-man football beginning in the fall. The Cougars will play a JV schedule in the fall of 2011 before moving to a varsity schedule in 2012.
