BOYS BASKETBALL

Evergreen 73, Hudson’s Bay 64 — Game coverage in Wednesday’s Columbian.

Sierra Vista (Las Vegas) 70, Battle Ground 59 — At Energy Classic in Gillette, Wyo., the Las Vegas team outscored Battle Ground 29-14 in the fourth quarter as Sierra Vista’s full-court pressure wore down the Tigers. It was the first loss of the season for BG (5-1). BG plays again at 2:15 Wyoming time on Wednesday against an opponent TBD.

Bellermine Prep 67, Union 65 — At the Seattle Prep Slalom Slam tournament. Isaiah Flynn scored the go-ahead basket with 7 seconds left as Bellermine Prep edged Union. Jordan Chatman scored 22 and Kyle Holmes 15 for the Titans. Union (4-3, 0-2 in this tournament) will play at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday against Community Charter of Los Angeles.

Castle Rock 80, Woodland 52 — Woodland faces Napavine at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Castle Rock tournament.

Seton Catholic 52, Pope John Paul II (Olympia) 11 — Nine players scored for the Cougars (5-2) in the non-league win.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

At Nike Interstate Shootout, Lake Oswego, Ore.

Skyview 61, Jefferson of Portland 41 — A 21-10 second quarter gave the Storm a nice lead as Skyview (5-2) improved to 1-1 at the LO tournament. Delaney Keser scored 14 points and Brooke Bowen 12 for the Storm. Skyview faces Thurston of Springfield, Ore., at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

West Albany (Ore.) 56, Evergreen 50 — Justine Joudrey scored 16 points, playing in two quarters of her first game back from a knee injury. Shamerica Scott, who sufferend an ankle injury on Monday, played the other two quarters and had 13 points. Evergreen (5-3, 0-2 in this tournament) will play at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday against Tualatin, Ore.

At Gillette, Wyo

Prairie 75, Sir Winston Churchill 48 — Angela Gelhar and Heather Corral scored 15 points apiece, and the Falcons improved to 6-0 with the opening-round win in Wyoming. Prairie forced more than 30 turnovers by the Calgary team over the first three quarters. Jackie Lanz added 13 points for Prairie, which will play Lynwood, Calif. on Wednesday afternoon in the tournament semifinals.
