State golf sites announced
We heard a rumor earlier in the fall that Camas Meadows was being considered as a host site for a state golf championship in the spring.
But as it turns out, state golf won’t be coming to Southwest Washington — at least not for the next two years.
The WIAA announced earlier this month state golf tournament locations for the next two springs.
In the past, the WIAA has kept the state golf tournaments in the same general region of the state, moving them between locations in Spokane, Tri-Cities/Yakima and Bellingham.
Starting in May, the state golf championships will be held at courses in the Spokane area, Spanaway, Lakewood and Dupont.
The Spokane-area courses are: Creek at Qualchan, Downriver, MeadowWood, Indian Canyon and Liberty Lake.
The Spanaway courses are: Lake Spanaway and The Classic.
Lakewood courses are: Meadow Park and Oakbrook. Also The Home Course in Dupont will also be a host site.
Here’s the breakdown for state tournaments in 2011 and 2012:
