Camas’ Kaler starts fast

Camas senior Jacob Kaler got off to a fast start on Wednesday.

In the first game of the season for the Papermakers’ boys basketball team, Kaler scored 42 points in a 89-69 Camas win at Skyview.

Kaler scored 33 points in the first half, helping the Papermakers to a 54-36 lead at the break. He finished the night with five 3-pointers and made 13 of 15 free throws.

The Papermakers made 33 of 41 free throws. Skyview was led by 22 points from Anthony Chamberlain.


Haley Grossman had 20 points, 16 rebounds, eight steals, two assists and a blocked shot for Battle Ground in the Tigers’ 51-25 girls basketball win over Hockinson.
