WIAA football semifinals postponed

Two high school football state semifinal games scheduled to be played Saturday at Spokane’s Joe Albi Stadium have been postponed and will be played Monday in the Tacoma Dome.

Officials in Spokane were unable to clear snow off the field at Joe Albi Stadium. And with more snow in the forecast, the WIAA announced Friday that the Class 3A game between East Valley of Spokane and Tumwater and the 4A game between Ferris of Spokane and Bellarmine Prep of Tacoma would be moved to the Tacoma Dome.

The East Valley-Tumwater game will be played at 2 p.m. Monday, followed by the Ferris-Bellarmine game at 5 p.m.

Ferris is coached by Jim Sharkey, who coached in Clark County for Battle Ground and Woodland.
