Ojukwu Out Of 100

Big news from the first event at the Class 3A GSHL district track meet: Kinsley Ojukwu of Union, who had the second-best 100-meter time in the state this year, failed to advance in the event.

Ojukwu, who has a season best of 10.84 seconds, started limping midway through the race at McKenzie Stadium. He finished last; the top three finishers in each event advance to the regional meet, where berths to state will be determined.

“It feels like it tightened up,” Ojukwu said. “I was feeling it in the triple jump. I was hoping it would go away, but it didn’t.”
