Coaches were asked to return preseason report forms by Friday, March 20. Here are reports we’ve received to date:

4A GREATER ST. HELENS LEAGUE

Evergreen

Key players: Septi Danciu, fwd, sr.; Cody Camp, mid, sr.; Kyle Burmaster, def, sr.; Erik Davies, mid, jr.; Josh Yurk, fwd, jr.

Outlook: Danciu is a two-time first-team all-league performer. … Camp and Burmaster also earned all-league honors. … Davies is a three-year starter for the Plainsmen.

Heritage

Key player: Tarik Subasic, fwd, sr.

Outlook: Subasic was the league’s leading goal scorer last season.

Mountain View

Key player: Jeff Garbarino, mid, sr.; Bobby Knight, def, jr.; Alex Hurt, fwd, sr.; Connor Lien, fwd, jr.; Brandon Brooks, mid, so.; Jeff Carmody, fwd, jr.

Outlook: The Thunder bring back a far more experienced team than they had last year, led by team captain Garbarino. The Thunder hope to use that experience to remain competitive in the 4A GSHL.

Skyview

Key player: Antonio Del Fierro, mf, sr.; Andy Long, def, sr.; Sean Chesebro, def/mid, sr.; Mikhail Wingate-Pearse, mid, jr.; Anthony Valle, mid/fwd, jr.; Keenan Townsend, gk, so; James Nosack, mid, fr.

Outlook: The Storm return a talented and experienced squad … Nosack participated in the U-14 National Development Program last fall in Florida. … Wingate-Pearse and Valle are in the Olympic Development Program regional pool … Townsend was selected to the Sounders FC U16 Academy team.

3A GREATER ST. HELENS LEAGUE

Camas

Key players: Stuart Jergensen, def., sr.; Nick Palodichuk, mid, jr.; Drew White, fwd, jr.; Zach Anderson, gk, jr.; Connor Valenter, fwd, sr.

Outlook: Nine of the Papermakers play on a club team in Oregon concurrently … Five players on the roster have been honored as scholar athletes … Valenter is injured to open the season … Jergensen, White and Anderson were first-team all-league picks last season .. Palodichuk played for the U.S. men’s Under-17 World Cup team in October.

Columbia River

Key players: Steven Hughes, mid, sr.; Thiesen Chang, fwd, sr.; Eli Gaynor, def, so.; Silas Collentine, def, jr.; Spenser Beck, mid/fwd, sr.; Justin Soloman, mid, jr.

Outlook: The Chieftains enter the season trying to keep pace in the very competitive 3A GSHL despite losing 12 seniors off last year’s squad. … Hughes has signed with Western Washington. … Chang was a second-team all-league pick last season.

Hudson’s Bay

Key players: Isaiah Escobedo, wing, jr.; Sascha Pell, f/w, so.; Cameron Foster, fwd, jr.; Danny Valenzuela, mid, sr.

Outlook: The Eagles are looking to turn close losses into wins this season. Bay lost six games last year by one goal. … Escobedo was a first-team all-league pick in 2009. … Pell is a regional Olympic Development Program player. … Valenzuela is a transfer from Portland.

Prairie

Key players: Austin Riley, mid, sr.; Mitch Treend, gk, sr.; Ben Mofford, def, so.; Daniel Froese, def., jr.; Hunter Dow, def., sr.

Outlook: The Falcons lost of lot key players off last year’s team, so this year is a bit of rebuilding year. … Goalkeeper Treend is a four-year starter at Prairie. … The Falcons will look to surprise some teams this season.

Union

Key players: Derek Johnson, def., sr.; Michael Granados, mid, jr.; Hudson Poissant, mid, jr.; Mikhail Doholis, fwd, so.

Outlook: Granados is a two-time first-team all-league performer. … Doholis made the all-league first team as a freshman. He also trained with the U.S. men’s under-17 national team in Florida … Johnson will be a three-year starter.

No reports: Fort Vancouver.

2A GREATER ST. HELENS LEAGUE

Hockinson

Key players: Jarren Parthemer, mid., jr.; Langdon Roscoe, mid, so.; Cotter Hamilton, sweep., jr.

Outlook: Parthemer, Roscoe and Hamilton were all second-team all-league players last season. … Parthemer played for a premier club state champion. … The Hawks are looking to rebuild this season and will need key contributions from young players.

Washougal

Key players: Aaron Johnson, sr.; David Zach, sr.; Elliott Juarez, sr.; Jeff Corona, sr.; John Corona, sr.

Outlook: The Panthers return a senior-heavy lineup. … Johnson and Juarez will lead the attack up front, and the Coronas anchoring the midfield. … Junior Patrick McCarthy will be in goal. … Coach John Tyger said this is the most skilled and creative group of players he’s hand during his eight-year tenure in Washougal.

1A TRICO LEAGUE

La Center

Key players: Landon Davis, mid., sr.; Garret Davis, fwd., sr.; Dakota Davison, mid., sr.; Corbin DeKalb, def. sr.; Peter Dykes, def., sr.; Jakob Firl, wing, sr.

Outlook: This is the finale for a group of players who have played together since they were in grade school. … The Wildcats have 11 seniors on the roster. … La Center is expected to make a solid run into and through the state playoffs.

King’s Way Christian

Key players: Andrew Willson, fwd, sr.; Josh Russell, mid., fr.; Sean Russell, def., sr.; Sebastian Baker, gk, so.; Tanner Coval, mid., so.

Outlook: This will be the first varsity soccer team at King’s Way. … The Knights will play the regular-season in the Trico League, but as a 1B program, will not contend for the 1A district playoff spots.
