Win Or Lose, Union Will Have The Beat

The Tacoma Dome was quieter than usual Friday, especially for a state semifinal game. That’s because Union’s outstanding band wasn’t in the building. Hard to believe, but the Titans’ basketball team overcame that hardship and still managed to advance to the state title game.

Athletic coordinator Cale Piland said the band had a conflict because of a percussion competition, but they will be there Saturday. It just didn’t seem like a Union game without the strains of Rocky Top, the Titans’ incessantly catchy fight song.
